Your role: As an EAL Teaching Assistant – Linguistic Pathway, you’ll be the vital link between language and learning. Every day, you’ll help students overcome barriers to understanding and thrive in a multilingual environment. You’ll clarify instructions, adapt activities, and create resources that make learning accessible and exciting. You’ll also support translation for meetings, assist with home language GCSE and A-level preparation, and champion inclusion for every student. To succeed, you must be fluent in English and at least one other language, such as Urdu, Arabic, Slovak, Czech, Polish or Lithuanian, because your linguistic skills will be the key to unlocking opportunities for their students. You’ll bring energy, empathy, and a love of language, along with a strong understanding of how children learn. You’ll have the confidence to explain tasks simply while encouraging independence, and you’ll be organised, adaptable, and ready to work collaboratively with teachers and other assistants. Experience supporting students with EAL needs is essential, and a commitment to safeguarding is non-negotiable.
