The organisation think supporting a good work-life balance for their staff is business-critical. The Role Claire House provides care for families across a wide area that goes beyond Liverpool and the Wirral, into much of north Wales, Cheshire, South Lancashire and the Isle of Man. They support more than 400 families every year but there are unfortunately even more that need support. Claire House relies on donations for 75% of its income. The role is fundraising as a 3rd party agent, employed by The Fundraising Partnership, representing and fundraising on behalf of Claire House Children’s Hospice. Your job will be to find more people to support us with a small regular donation so that they can make a big difference to local families. You do this by talking to people at their homes, being friendly, explaining what Claire House does, and asking them to become a regular supporter. A typical fundraiser will raise more than £400,000 for the charity every year that they work for us. So, you would be doing do a job where after 5 years of work, through your professionalism, integrity, and hard work you could raise more than £2million for charities that deal, quite literally in matters of life and death. Charity lotteries are vital to keeping these charities going. Role Requirements You need to be reasonably mobile and physically fit and active, but they can train you in all other parts of the job very easily. You will also be ethical and take pride in doing a job the right way. You need interpersonal skills, to be a good listener and be able to communicate effectively, but you don’t need to be really persuasive or great at making speeches as it isn’t what people think of as a sales job at all. Most of all you need to have real integrity and self-motivation. They employ good people, treat them well and they trust their people to work to high standards. They have an outstanding team of fundraisers who work to the highest standards and deliver the best quality results in their industry. It’s a privilege to join their team. All sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds can be successful but you must have personal integrity and self-motivation. It is a salaried role enhanced by commission with full-time and part-time options, travel costs payment included. You will need to have a car but will typically be working within 30 minutes of your home. Full-time OTE is between £30-40k pa. They provide full training which is delivered via a home study course and ongoing support and coaching in the field.
