Female Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Longfield area

Salary: £14.50 per hour

Hours: 12 – 16 hours per week (Shift times are flexible depending on the needs of the client. Opportunity for weekdays, evenings and/ or weekends)

The Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated mental health support worker to join the team in Longfield, Kent. You will help the client maintain independence, access the community, and maximise the quality of her life.

Our client is completely blind and fully independent in her home. She needs assistance to access the community, and they are looking for someone who can join her in the activities she wishes to pursue, such as visiting farms, going to theme parks, and swimming. She also enjoys walking in parks and visiting the seaside, weather permitting!  An animal lover is a must, as she has a house rabbit and loves all animals! My client has a great sense of humour.  And she needs someone who is consistent, caring, and can roll with resistance!

  • The ability to bring your strengths and interests to the team.
  • Has a genuine interest in mental health and wellbeing
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is compassionate, empathetic, and patient
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience would be an advantage; however, applicants with no experience but a willingness to learn may be considered. 
  • Support to enable the client to be as independent as possible, including managing day-to-day responsibilities, planning and organising social activities, and dealing with correspondence and personal appointments.
  • You must have an up-to-date DBS at enhanced level, paid for by the employer, if you need to apply.
