Fundraising Assistant

Location: North Chailey, BN8 4EF (Hybrid working available after induction)

Salary: £25,298 per annum

Hours: Full time, 37 hours - must be available to work Fridays and occasionally evenings or weekends for events

The Role

As their new Fundraising Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of their Fundraising Team — the friendly first point of contact for supporters, donors, and partners.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills in fundraising, supporter care, and charity communications while making a genuine difference every day.

You’ll be part of a passionate, supportive team that values creativity, collaboration, and curiosity. No two days are the same — one moment you’ll be welcoming a visitor or thanking a donor, and the next you’ll be helping prepare for one of their brilliant community events.

What You’ll Do

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for fundraising enquiries — from donors and event participants to community groups and corporate partners
  • Support fundraising campaigns and events, helping inspire and steward their amazing supporters
  • Maintain accurate supporter records and help process donations, thank-you's, and communications
  • Assist with prospect research and event administration
  • Create engaging copy for posters, newsletters, and supporter communications
  • Ensure supporters, volunteers, and visitors always have a positive experience them

You’ll also have opportunities to attend events, build relationships, and grow your knowledge of charity fundraising.

 What They’re Looking For

They’re looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, professional, and confident communicating with people at all levels
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • A strong team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and databases (experience with CRM systems is a plus)
  • Keen to learn and grow within a supportive team

Experience in fundraising or a customer-facing role is desirable, but not essential — if you’re enthusiastic, curious, and eager to make a difference, they’d love to hear from you.

Benefits

  • Enhanced annual leave (25–30 days plus bank holidays)
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing resources
  • Retail and leisure discounts
  • Contributory pension scheme with access to their enhanced plan
  • Death in Service benefit
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Free onsite parking, café, and kitchen facilities

They also cover the cost of all DBS checks and renewals.
