Project Manager
Location: Birmingham
Salary: From £40,000.00 per year (Dependant on experience)
Hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:00, Friday 07:30-12:30
Our client is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham.
The Role
In order to meet the company’s ambitious growth targets, they are looking for a results driven Project Manager to join the team. The purpose of the role is to manage key design, development and manufacturing projects from bid to completion within agreed time, cost and performance targets and to manage and develop the customer and stakeholder relationships on assigned projects.
Day-to-day activities would include:
- Define project stream scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in line with business goals.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Drive execution while monitoring progress, risks, and issues to ensure projects remain on track.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Act as the central communication point for the customer and between stakeholders, suppliers, and senior management.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, progress reviews, and decision-making processes.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively resolve issues.
- Maximise opportunities to win new or follow-on business and prepare Bid information.
- Monitor project performance against plan and identify appropriate corrective actions by conducting periodic cost, schedule, performance and risk reviews.
- Identify and secure the required resources to successfully execute project.
- Manage all customer interfaces and communicate effectively to senior management team members and peers to establish a common understanding of project scope and plan for successful project execution.
- Prepare and present project status reports to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Knowledge and practical experience of best practice in Project Management techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent team working skills
- Microsoft project & Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
- Educated to a minimum of HNC standard or equivalent
- Engineering or Technical background / understanding (Desirable)
- Associate member of APM (Association of Project Managers) (Desirable)
Other
- Must be a British National with no Dual Nationality due to security clearance.
- Eligible to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.
