Site & Lettings Officer

Location: Cambridge

Salary: Grade 6, Points 7 – 12 £11,001 - £11,915 per annum

Hours: 16 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.  (Shift pattern, evenings and weekends)

Are you enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment? The Trust are seeking a dedicated Site Officer to join their supportive and friendly team at the Academy, working primarily during evenings and weekends in support of their busy Lettings operation

The Role

This is a hands-on role requiring a practical and proactive individual with good all-round maintenance skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a focus on delivering excellent service to all users of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the premises are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Open, close, and prepare the site for community lettings, ensuring sports facilities are ready for use. 
  • Take pride in keeping the site in an excellent state of tidiness and repair, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and external hirers via their compliance platform Iamcompliant.
  • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance to the building, furniture, and equipment within the scope of a competent handyperson.
  • Operate the Building Management System (BMS) to monitor and control heating and other building systems efficiently.
  • Act as a point of contact for evening and weekend users of the facilities, providing high-quality customer service.
  • Ensure contractors working on site follow health & safety regulations and comply with safeguarding procedures.
  • Support Reception duties as required during evening or weekend activities.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and respond to out-of-hours emergencies when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Highly motivated, reliable, and professional with a strong work ethic.
  • Flexible, especially with availability for evening and weekend shifts.
  • Grounds maintenance desirable.
  • Skilled in general DIY/maintenance, with a trade background being advantageous.
  • Knowledgeable in Health & Safety best practices.
  • Comfortable using IT systems and managing online maintenance tools.
  • Experienced in working with external contractors and supervising their activities.
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service, particularly to their letting’s clients.
  • A strong team player with the ability to use initiative and work independently when needed.
