At Another we are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking group of companies with a vision and ambitious journey to grow. We are seeking a visionary, commercial and results-driven current Chief Operating Officer (COO) or CEO that can lead an organisation business strategy and drive growth initiatives.
As the COO, you will play a crucial role in shaping the operational framework. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring managing directors, acting as the strategic council whilst ensuring the strategic goals align with our operations and long-term vision. Your leadership will be key in navigating our expansion plans and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation throughout the organisation.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support the company’s growth objectives
- Lead and mentor cross functional divisional executive teams (MDs) and their leadership teams, promoting a culture of inclusion, accountability and continuous improvement, whilst harnessing the companies value led people culture.
- Ensuring organisational alignment with strategic goals with central functions; HR, IT, Operations, SHE, Marketing etc
- Collaborate with the executive team to identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
- Analyse market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions
- Supporting the MD to translate business strategy into operational plans with clear metrics timelines and resource allocations
- Collaborate with the CEO and board to develop long term strategic goals in line with the company values
- Partner with the CFO to set budgets, forecasts and performance metrics. Continually reviewing to ensure being on track.
- Working with the MDs to drive optimisation initiatives that ensure cost control, profitability, maximise performance and resource utilisation.
- Provide transformational strategic vision that translates into operational objectives.
- Foster a customer-centric approach throughout the organisation
- Ensuring compliance, health and safety requirements, quality and processors are adhered to
- Be proactive in the integration of key sustainability goals. Ensuring compliance with regulations and innovation in investment.
- Support diversification and growth initiatives, including geographic expansion and new product/service development.
- Promote employee engagement, retention, and leadership succession
- Monitor and improve operational profitability, cost control, and resource utilisation.
- Drive synergies and efficiencies across divisions to maximise ROI.
- Oversee risk management strategies and crisis preparedness across the operational landscape.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a COO or CEO in a small to medium size business, with demonstratable performance of vision setting and operational alignment producing significant growth. Ideally this has been gained in a highly commercial, fast paced B2B business.
- Exceptional coaching and leadership of executive teams (including managing directors), with the ability to inspire and motivate large team is essential.
- Strong background in strategic planning, financial planning, operational management, commerciality and business development.
- A track record of transformational growth with proven experience of strategic vision translating into operational objectives is essential – i.e scalable systems, digital, resources, processors etc
- Strong evidence of implementing operational and business strategies, driving results to support significant company growth
- Experience of cross functional organisational alignment to strategic goals with central functions
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Has experience of leading organisational governance – ESG, HSE, Compliance, Regulatory
- flexible and adaptable in an evolving business environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Must be happy with travel to different office locations.
