Executive Assistant (OPCC)

Location: Andy Hocking House, Exeter

Salary: Grade 5 - Starts at £29,109 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £31,296 per annum.

Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner is looking for an Executive Assistant to join our dynamic team based at Middlemoor Police HQ in Exeter. Working for the Chief Executive, you will be providing critical, professional and effective personal support. As their right-hand person, you will be confident in:

• Communicating and working with a range of people from the general public to senior level officials & stakeholders
• Managing her daily activity
• Diary management
• Minute taking and a range of administration for meetings, conferences, briefings.

No two days are ever the same so adaptability is key. The role will be varied, challenging and at times high pace. Based in our offices in Exeter you will get to work closely with the Police and Crime Commissioner, many senior roles across policing and our vast array of partners across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. 

Having come from a similar environment you will demonstrate excellent planning and organisation skills, be skilled in diplomacy, negotiating and emotionally intelligent. Your verbal and written English will be second to none. Highly proficient in IT, we use the Microsoft Office applications which you will be able to use with ease.

Interviews:

The first stage interview will be a Teams video call on 29th May 2025. Followed by an in person interview at the OPCC, Middlemoor, Exeter on 4th June 2025.  There will be a final meeting with Fran Hughes, Chief Executive on 5th June 2025.
