Salary: £14.48 per hour (Including holiday allowance)

Vacancy Type: Bank role

The High School is a member of an Education Trust. The Education Trust is an expanding multi-academy trust with 13 primary and 9 secondary schools.

They are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic person with high standards and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with others as part of the school as a Cleaner.

The Role

The Cleaner is responsible for:

  • Undertaking the highest standards of cleanliness when cleaning the following areas / ways in the school
  • Swift reporting of any hazards or defects to the Caretaker or Site Manager
  • Be familiar with and adhere to COSHH requirements
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others and be familiar with, and adhere to the Trust’s Health and Safety Policy
  • Operating cleaning machinery as trained.  

Skills and Qualifications

  • The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others
  • Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team
  • Willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team
  • Be able to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Be flexible and resilient in managing and executing their daily responsibilities
  • Able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions
  • Ability to clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping etc.)
  • Evidence of a commitment to promoting the health, welfare and safeguarding of children. Knowledge of cleaning products and their uses
  • An understanding of cleaning processes
  • An understanding of the health and safety risks associated with cleaning processes and products
