SEND Base HLTA

Location: Attleborough

Salary: Scale 12-17 fte £28,598 - £31,022    £25,564 to £28,232 (pro-rata)

Vacancy Type: Term time plus two weeks, 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

The Academy is a member of the Education Trust. The Trust is an expanding multi-academy trust with 12 primary and 9 secondary schools.  

The Role

They are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic person with high standards and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with others as part of their school as the SEND Base Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).  The SEND Team is a very close-knit and effective group of individuals who provide high quality and personalised care and support in the belief that this is key to student success and enjoyment during their time at the Academy.

 As the SEND Base HLTA, you will be expected to lead and deliver a high-quality personalised learning provision for a range of learners with a variety of SEND needs. This will include the coordination of personalised provision for some learners within the SEND Base. Interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis are essential to ensure that all students thrive and make progress from their individual starting points.

The job will include planning, adapting, and delivering high quality provision and interventions to students with the following needs:

  • Communication and Interaction
  • Cognition and Learning
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health
  • Sensory and/or Physical

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent in English and Mathematics (certificates to be made available at interview)
  • Interest in further profession development
  • Experience and recent relevant training in learning strategies for learners who require SEND support
  • Practical experience of supporting children with SEND needs in a secondary school setting using recognized programmes
  • Data tracking and intervention planning
  • Experience of preparing, prioritizing, initiating and delivering of intervention strategies
  • Understanding of effective behaviour management strategies
  • A proven track record of implementing effective strategies to support the needs of all students to raise achievement at a level equivalent to individual experience
