Waking Night Support Workers Location: Loughton, Essex Salary: £20.00 - £22.00 per hour (Monday – Friday £20 per hour, Saturday & Sunday £22 per hour) (Bank Holidays 1.5 times usual weekday hourly rate) Hours: Full and Part Time hours available (20:00 – 08:00 Monday to Sunday) The company are seeking experienced Waking Night Support Workers to join an established care fantastic team providing 24/7 care for their young client on a 2-to-2 basis. They are looking for Waking Night Support Worker experienced in caring for clients with complex care needs and who are flexible as to the number of shifts applicants apply for. The Role Their client can wake frequently during the night and is often awake early in the morning; his sleep pattern is unpredictable, and he requires frequent attention. The role of the Waking Night Carers is to monitor and attend to their clients care needs throughout the night, ensuring care records are accurately maintained. Duties will include some client-related domestic tasks within the home. All of their client’s support team are expected to work cooperatively and cohesively with his parents, the Case Manager and the team of therapists. There may be times when their client’s parents need to be away from the family home and at these times the Waking Night Support Worker will be in sole care of him. The Client He is a delightful 11-year-old boy, who has complex needs including Cerebral Palsy (CP), seizures, Global Developmental Delay and associated learning difficulties. He lives with his Mum, Dad and younger brother in an adapted family home, completed with a bespoke therapy space, based in Loughton, Essex. He loves to visit his family in Jamacia each year as well as going on other family holidays and it is helpful if candidates are able to offer the flexibility to accompany on these holidays to provide the care he requires. He is not independently mobile and needs a wheelchair for mobility. Specialist equipment is in place including a hoist and other equipment to support safe movement around the family home. It is important that members of the care team are able to undertake this physically demanding but very rewarding role. He loves spending time with happy and outgoing people and makes sounds to communicate emotions. He has a comprehensive therapy plan in place to ensure that he is continually developing and able to enjoy the world around him.
