Job Role:  Hardware Assessment Co-Ordinator

Salary: £25,000 per annum.

Contract Type: FT, Monday-Friday 37.5 hrs per week.

Greensafe IT is seeking a detail-oriented and methodical Hardware Assessment Coordinator to join our Internal Engineering Department. This newly created role plays a pivotal part in maximising operational efficiency by acting as a first-stage filter for incoming IT hardware devices—ensuring only the devices that require full engineer review reach the engineering team.

The Technical Assessor will be responsible for analysing system-generated diagnostic reports and determining the most appropriate pathway for each device. These pathways may include:

• Further in-depth engineering review
• Warranty route
• Refurbishment
• Straight-to-quote processing

While the role does not require deep technical skills or hands-on repair work, an interest in or general understanding of common laptop components (e.g., screens, batteries, keyboards, mainboards, storage devices) will be highly beneficial. This role can progress into a Hardware Repair Technician, or other roles, for the right person.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret automated diagnostic reports for a high volume of incoming IT hardware devices.
• Make accurate decisions on the correct workflow pathway for each device based on report findings.
• Identify devices that do not need full engineering intervention, helping reduce unnecessary workload for engineers.
• Maintain high accuracy and consistency in assessments to ensure optimal productivity throughout the engineering team.
• Monitor and meet specific KPIs related to device throughput, accuracy, and decision quality.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and team leads to refine decision-making criteria and improve overall department performance.
• Escalate unclear or unusual cases promptly to senior engineering staff.
• Provide feedback on recurring diagnostic issues, misreported errors, or opportunities for process improvement.
• Assist in maintaining documentation, workflows, and internal reporting systems as required.
• Ensure all tasks are carried out in compliance with internal processes and policy.

• Interest in IT hardware, especially laptop components and common faults.
• Experience within a technical, operations, or quality-control environment beneficial.
• Experience or understanding of IT refurbishment, warranty or repair processes would be advantageous, but is not essential.
