Higher Level Teaching Assistant Location: Norwich, NR14 7QP Salary: FTE £28,598 - £31,022 per annum, Pro Rata £22,432 - £24,774 per annum, including an allocation for holiday pay Vacancy Type:Permanent, full-time, 33.75 hours per week, term-time plus 1 week, to start February 2026 THE ROLE Framingham Earl High School is a member of the Sapientia Education Trust (SET). SET is an expanding multi-academy trust with 13 primary and 9 secondary schools. We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic person with high standards and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with others as part of our school as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). HLTAs lead on implementing high quality provision for all SEND students within the classroom and through delivering 1:1 or small group interventions, where necessary. HLTAs support the SENDCO in their role and work closely with Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support meeting the needs of students within the school. This SEND HLTA role is a full time position, 2 days allocated specifically for overseeing students with Sensory and Physical needs and 3 days to add capacity to HLTAs and TAs. This specific role will be focused on supporting specific medical needs of learners, whilst also providing academic support for other learners who fall within the remit of Sensory and Physical. It is essential that the postholder is able to carry out the listed duties with sensitivity, subtlety and a calm approach to ensure that the privacy and dignity of the individual student is upheld and maintained at all times. The ability to use British Sign Language would be an advantage as there will be some one to one and small group work with deaf students. Due to the medical needs of a specific learner, the post holder will be required to fulfil the following as part of the role: Gastrostomy Care Medical training requirements
