The council are creating two brand-new Occupational Therapy roles within their Adult Social Care & Prevention Directorate, and they want you to be part of it! This is an exciting opportunity to join Adult Social CarePoint (ASCP) – the vibrant front door to their services – and help them deliver a preventative, strengths-based approach that makes a difference to residents within the city.

Their mission is simple:

  • Promote independence
  • Provide timely, cost-effective support, ensuring informal carers needs are also considered
  • Reduce the need for ongoing care

If you’re passionate about making a real difference, this is your chance to lead change from the very first point of contact.

About the Team
ASCP is a multi-disciplinary, responsive service. They visit individuals in their own homes, understand their circumstances to provide practical solutions – from equipment to short-term support – helping people regain skills and confidence.
You’ll work alongside an incredible team of professionals, including:

  • Social Workers and Social Care Assessment Officers
  • Physiotherapists
  • Falls Prevention Coordinators
  • Moving & Handling Specialists
  • Reablement Practitioners
  • Health colleagues

Together, they deliver rapid interventions that prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and help people stay independent for longer.

About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll:

  • Support people to maintain independence and avoid unnecessary admissions
  • Contribute clinical expertise to a team tackling falls, frailty, long-term conditions and unexpected crisis
  • Ensure timely, strengths-based interventions

This is a front-facing role where your decisions matter. You’ll make an impact from the very first conversation, shaping care pathways and helping people live safely and confidently in their own homes.

What They’re Looking For
They need someone who is:

  • Confident and person focused
  • A great communicator with a flexible approach
  • Ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet challenging deadlines

Why Join Them?

  • Access training and development opportunities to grow your career
  • Work in a role where your ideas and expertise truly matter
  • Enjoy the variety and challenge of the work, alongside other professionals who are supportive and want great outcomes for people.
