Site Service Estimator and Technical Support

Location: Cheddar

Salary: £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Role

To provide technical support and accurate estimations for site service work including repairs, installations, and maintenance projects. This office-based role is pivotal in ensuring service efficiency, technical accuracy, and client satisfaction by working closely with the Site Service team, engineering staff, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess service job requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates for repair, maintenance, and installation projects.
  • Provide technical support to the Site Service Engineers and customers, including troubleshooting advice, product support, and recommendations.
  • Liaise with customers to clarify technical requirements and ensure service expectations are met.
  • Interpret site visit reports and engineer feedback to create job scopes, parts lists, and labour requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including quotations, job briefs, and technical data sheets.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of site works based on resource availability and job priority.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, regulatory standards, and internal procedures during all project planning and support activities.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring technical issues and recommending solutions or training needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Service Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of services and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other relevant office-based technical duties as required by the Site Service Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a technical/engineering support or estimating role (within a similar industry).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
  • Familiarity with electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, and inverters (essential).
  • Working knowledge of three-phase systems; understanding of drives and control systems (advantageous).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service reports.
  • Excellent communication skills for both customer and internal team interaction.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical, problem-solving approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience supporting a field service or engineering team (advantageous).
  • PLC experience is a plus but not essential.
