Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Contract: Fixed term until April 2026

Hours: 32.5 hours, 39 weeks (term time plus one week)

Working Pattern: 8.45am to 3.30pm - Monday to Thursday, and 8.45am to 2.55pm on Fridays

Salary: Pathway 4, £21,435 - £22,884, (FTE £28,624 -£30,559) per annum

Site: Richard Barnes Academy (Trinity Site)

Your Role

As a Teaching Assistant at Richard Barnes Academy, you will play a crucial role in supporting their key stage 3 and 4 students’ educational journey. Your responsibilities will include supervising and assisting individuals or groups of children, promoting inclusion, and aiding in their learning by clarifying instructions, motivating them, and helping with areas such as spelling and reading. You will also support teachers by preparing classrooms, managing resources, and maintaining records. Your expertise in understanding the needs of Alternative Provision students, particularly those with SEND or SEMH needs, will be essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to manage behavior effectively, are key to this role.
