Your Role

As a Teaching Assistant (Autism Hub) at Welbourne Primary Academy, you will work alongside the hub team to support individual students or groups of students. You will help children access the mainstream setting and take responsibility for planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to individual children or small groups within the hub, under the supervision of hub teaching staff. Your responsibilities include supporting pupils to access learning at an appropriate level, providing specialist learning support, and establishing supportive relationships with pupils. You will also adapt activities for individual needs, promote inclusion, and understand the specific needs of pupils with autism.

To excel in this role, you will need a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, and a willingness to undertake appropriate first aid training. Experience in supporting pupils with autism, promoting good behaviour, and providing detailed feedback to teachers is essential. You should have the ability to work as part of a team, support the use of ICT in learning activities, and develop pupils' competence and independence.
