HR Administrator

Location: Brighton

Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 per annum (Depending on skills and experience)

Brighton College are seeking to appoint a HR Administrator on a full-time, permanent basis. 

Main Purpose of the Role: To manage and support the recruitment process, alongside hiring managers, across all areas of the College and the Prep School. The postholder will also provide first level advice to managers across the employee life cycle, for example, probation, appraisals, absence and performance management.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day responsibility for the smooth-running of the recruitment process.
  • Be the key contact for hiring managers, providing advice on the recruitment process.
  • Successfully administer multiple recruitment campaigns concurrently. This includes creating and posting job advertisements to attract candidates.
  • Organise interviews for shortlisted applicants, ensuring logistics are handled smoothly.
  • Attend interviews/oversee the interview process as a whole.
  • Meet and greet interview candidates and oversee their ID checks, making sure candidates present the correct ID.
  • Provide effective candidate management throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Collate recruitment documentation from the hiring manager/interview panel.
  • Ensuring that all recruitment activities are compliant.
  • Prepare and issue appointment letters and contracts of employment.
  • Create new starter profiles on the various College systems (iSAMS and CIPHR).
  • Be the key contact for new starters during the onboarding process. Ensuring any outstanding onboarding is completed.
  • Request references for candidates, monitoring responses and flagging any areas for concern.
  • Support the employee life cycle by conducting check-ins with new starters and offering exit interviews with leavers.
  • Hold monthly meetings with line managers.
  • Support the HR Compliance team by collating activity history timelines and printing complete employee files.
  • Work alongside the HR team on a range of projects.
  • Support the Head of HR at capability, disciplinary and grievance hearings.
  • General administrative support, data entry and record keeping.
  • Any other reasonable management request.

Person Specifications

The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Good understanding of IT, including Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
  • Clear verbal and written skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm with a 60 minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week).

Remuneration

A salary in the range of £27,000 - £29,000 per annum will be offered, depending on skills and experience.

Holidays

23 days, plus bank holidays increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
